The villa is located in the seaside village of Agia Marina, within walking distance from the long sandy beach, many restaurants and shops.\

Also, just a short drive away from Chania city (just 9 km) this lively resort is a great base for excursions and daily trips. The shore of Agia Marina, which can be reached on foot, is fantastic with consecutive sandy beaches. Three of the best beach bars in Chania are in the area of Agia Marina.

Opposite the beach of Agia Marina you'll see the protected islet of Thodorou, which has been declared a natural reserve. There is a large colony of the endangered Cretan wild goats in Crete, moved here from the White Mountains (i.e. the area around Samaria Gorge). Approaching the island is possible only by organised boat trips. In the small cove of the islet, serving as the harbour or the island, there is a small sandy beach overlooking Agia Marina. 

2,5 Km away the also busy seaside village of Platanias can be found. The area has faced a great development in tourism during the last decades and the small village has now turned into a lively suburb of Chania. The proximity to Chania, the beautiful beach and the regular bus services from Chania have made Platanias the most popular beach near Chania city. The old village is built on a hillside with a fantastic view of the sea and the islet of Thodorou. The beach of Platanias (2,5 km away)  is a lovely long sandy strip, along which there are many touristic facilities. On the beach you will find everything that is provided on well organized beaches, such as beach bars, umbrellas, showers, snack bars, lifeguards, water sports etc. During summer nights, the night clubs in the area host thousands of people, both Greeks and foreigners, who dance till dawn.

Finally, you would not want to miss a walk through the old harbour, in the alleys that count almost 5.000 years of history and architecture. Visit the picturesque alleys of the old town of Chania, explore their history, gaze at their beauty, stroll along the shops with jewellery and souvenirs and enjoy the notorious Cretan Cuisine in some of the best taverns in town!
